(adapted model, according to the 5-phase concept)
Phase 1: Establishing contact & process planning
In this first phase, we clarify the individual adoption history together, discuss expectations and formulate concrete goals. Together we determine the next steps and shape the further course in such a way that personal resources are strengthened and personal responsibility for the process is encouraged.
Phase 2: Document search in Switzerland
In this phase, the available adoption documents in Switzerland are systematically researched and carefully analyzed. We work closely with the relevant authorities and coordinate all the necessary steps to ensure a comprehensive set of documents.
Phase 3: Initiation of the search & preparation
We provide support in initiating the search via the relevant cantonal authorities and/or coordinate a referral to external partners. We also advise and support adopted persons throughout the entire search process in their country of origin. A particular focus is on psychosocial preparation for possible search results.
Phase 4: Preparation & initial contact
After a successful search result, we support the preparation of the first contact with the family found. Once a relationship has been confirmed, we make comprehensive preparations for the reunion: This includes the psychosocial preparation of the adopted person for the culture and the journey to their country of origin.
Phase 5: Follow-up & evaluation
In this phase, we provide support in working through the search results, accompany the processing of the clarifications and the new findings that have emerged from the search for origins. In doing so, we support the confrontation with different identities or the situation of having two families. We help you to carefully establish a sustainable contact and evaluate your personal condition together. If required, we can also provide advice on the formulation of statements or inquiries to cantonal authorities.
